This charter is aimed specifically at companies who produce materials, products or systems for use in the construction or maintenance of the built environment
This Charter emphasises the importance of the correct application of materials and components, in line with accreditation, and how the product is sold to the market with the correct references to the products specification.
In signing this Charter
We commit that the following standards and actions will be upheld during the course of our activities:
- As a first priority, we will at all times consider the outcomes of our actions in respect to the safety of the end user
- We will be clear in our marketing regarding the performance ability of our product or component
- We will be clear in our references to product accreditation and explain in simple terms how this aligns with regulation and to what extent
- We will ensure information is readily available re product testing
- We will confirm with our customer the intended use of the product and comment on its suitability in respect to being fit for the intended use
- We will ensure clear instructions for use are included within packaging of the product with specific reference to tested applications
- We will inform Fire Aware if we become aware of products on the market that are not in compliance with their accreditations
- We will work with the Fire Aware organisation to assist members who need advice on products, specifications, or accreditations
